FOR HEAVY SINKING & BUILDING OF STEEL DRUM INSTRUMENTS

"R" Heavy Duty Turning Worktable $550.00
This turning worktable was designed by Dennis Martin after we realized customers' purchasing Rhythmical Steel Power Tools were not getting the full effect and advantages of using "R" New Power Tools. So we knew we had to come up with a worktable that could be shipped to steel drum builders located anywhere around the world. Here at Rhythmical Steel we have been using turning tables for years so we had over looked what is presently common practice in the majority of steel drum workshops.

The Advantages of "R"
HEAVY DUTY TURNING WORKTABLE:

[ No more walking around a full sized 55 gallon barrel while sinking.

[ No more constantly having to stop and grab both sides of the full sized 55 gallon barrel and physically turn the drum while sinking it, laying it out, shaping, and grooving the notes.

[ Using "R" Steel Drum Turning Table allows you to cut the full sized 55 gallon barrel to the skirt length of each steel drum instrument you are building. This gets rid of the extra bulk weight and makes it easier to handle throughout the building process.

[ "R" worktable spins with little effort; it can be moved while leaning into the drum still working. No need for stopping.

[ With a Rhythmical Steel Turning Worktable it adjusts so you decide what is a comfortable height for you to work.

[ The pre cut drum top is strapped down so it is less likely to bounce around while working with "R" Rhythmical Steel Power Tools (3 straps with buckles are included in package).

[ "R" Turning Worktable can be taken with you while traveling to different locations to do extensive work.

NOTE: The BASE for the Heavy Duty Turning Worktable is made from any 55 gallon new or used barrel that you have sitting around.

DIRECTIONS: To figure out the right height for your worktable, take a pre cut drum top that you will be sinking on your New Worktable, sit it on the new turning part of stand and measure the height of these 2 pieces together. Next step is to figure out the height of what the BASE needs to be. Measure from the bottom of a 55 gallon barrel and measure upward. Add in the previous measurement from the tuning part and pre cut drum top. After you figure out the height for the BASE, cut it. The BASE can be painted so it doesn't rust. The next step is to fill the inside of the BASE with sand bags, bags filled with sand or rocks whatever is handy and laying around. These bags will weight the BASE down so it is extremely heavy and it keeps the BASE from moving around and bouncing on the floor. After you put the sand bags inside the BASE place the New Worktable on top of BASE. Drill 3 holes going through both, the top of BASE and bottom edge of Turning Table and bolt the two together. When you have your New Worktable all set up, place the pre cut drum top on the New Worktable. Use the straps provided to strap the pre cut drum top down so the drum stays in place while working on it. This table is designed for the heavy duty work as well as finishing work.

Comment: At Rhythmical Steel we pre cut drum tops a couple inches longer so they can be trimmed after the heavy work is done.
