Rhythmical Steel hand crafts a complete line of full sized steel drum instruments constructed from brand new 55 gallon barrels made in the Pacific Northwest. By combining traditional techniques along with the addition of using strobe tuners, this makes tuning accurate, bringing each instrument into concert pitch with A 440. This allows Rhythmical Steel Drum Instruments to be played with any other group of instruments, whether it be a full sized steel drum band or conventional band, professional or otherwise.
The complete line of the full sized steel drum instruments that Rhythmical Steel carries are: Leads, Double Seconds, Double Tenors, Triple Guitars, Cellos, Tenor Basses, and Basses. Each of these instruments play a major part in arranging for a Steel Drum Band, or Steel Orchestra.
Rhythmical Steel also designed the Alto and Double Bass Pans,
a smaller variety of Rhythmical Steel Drum Instruments to be used with other
Orff Schulwerk Instruments.
Steel Drum Workshop this is a demonstration on the construction of the steel drum instruments, this demonstration is designed especially for school students. The workshop goes over some of the history related to the steel pans, and techniques used to hand craft a 55 gallon oil barrel into a beautiful instrument.
