Sadie and Josie's Bakery has opened in Long Beach, Washington as of May 9, 2020. They have a business that is steadily growing while keeping the same family atmosphere!

Sadie and Josie are sisters that worked at Save On Foods in Woodland, Washington. Sadie working there for 11 years and Josie for 9 years. After the store in Woodland closed its doors, the sisters decided to start a mobile bakery with their mom and dad. That way they could keep serving fresh baked goods to the customers they had come to know in the La Center Area. After two and a half years of doing the mobile bakery the opportunity came up to move into a storefront in La Center. At that time they brought in their big brother Chris Martin, he too had worked at Save On Foods in Woodland for 12 years.

After 3 years it was a great loss to the family and community when Chris passed away from skin cancer, December 2, 2013. Chris was really proud of his families bakery. He was excited of the possibility that his girls, nieces and nephews would work at the bakery when they become old enough. Years later they do work at Sadie and Josie's Bakery in La Center and now they work in Long Beach, Washington too!

Expectations from everyone at Sadie and Josie's is to keep their high standards while growing and to get the word out about their Fresh Baked Breads, Pastries, Cakes, Pies and Candies. It is important to note that everything is made and baked at Sadie and Josie's Bakery which is noticeable as soon as you walk in the doors. Like Sadie and Josie say, "Scratch is not scratching the top of a box while opening it. Scratch is getting out the real butter, eggs, milk, sugar, flour, etc."

Note from Sadie and Josie:

On February 27, 2008, is when we started being in business as Sadie and Josie's Bakery, Inc., as of September 30, 2010 we went from a mobile bakery into a real storefront in La Center, Washington. Now Sadie and Josie's Bakery is in Long Beach, Washington as of May 9, 2020. We are excited with all the changes our family has made to the new location. We are looking forward to providing you with many years of great service. Thank you for all the great support in Long Beach you have made us feel so welcomed! It took us one year and one week to get everything done and was able to get the Ok to open at the beach. The City of Long Beach was great to work with, thank you.

Below are some websites of other local business that we carry in our bakery.

Warmly,

Sadie, Josie and the Family

The Memory Bear of Christopher James Martin

Chris' Memory Bear was handmade by Susan Huddlesten. He was made from the clothes that Chris wore while working at the family bakery in La Center, Washington. Susan gave this bear as a gift to Sadie and Josie's Bakery on October 7, 2014.

Christoper James Martin was Sadie and Josie's Big Brother, he was the only Son of Dennis and Sharon Martin, all owners of Sadie and Josie's Bakery.

Chris is dearly missed by all of his loving family, friends, co-workers and customers that he saw on a daily basis.

Thanks to Susan, this Memory Bear of Chris has brought great comfort, love, thoughts of the past, present and the future. Chris' Memory Bear has made us all laugh and given us pure joy. This bear hit the floor running on his very first day getting into everything, just like Chris always did! This little bear has been busy doing it all at the bakery from making Donuts, working on Cakes and Pies or helping with the dishes. He even gives out huge bear hugs too, just like Chris would do. We call Chris' Memory Bear C.J. for short and we hope that you will enjoy seeing him in action on facebook and in e-mails, he even has his own book filled with all kinds of pictures.
